Save even more with HUGE tax savings

The Roo savings keep piling up! Did you know when you travel more than 50 miles for business purposes — which includes CE events and veterinary conferences — you can unlock some crazy tax savings!

Your travel to and from Nashville, including airfare, hotel, rental car, and/or any mileage can be written off on your annual taxes, effectively subsidizing your Music City vacation. Plus, your meals and snacks can be expensed on your taxes as well!

Speaking of good eats…

Where to eat and what to do in Music City

Nashville features some of the best southern food in the country with their own unique Tennessee flair. Obviously, you’re not gonna want to miss out on Nashville hot chicken, THE local speciality. I’ve been told by good authorities that Prince’s Hot Chicken is the place to go. Bolton’s and Hattie B’s also come highly recommended, and now it appears I’ve started drooling on my keyboard, oh my.

As a company born in Texas, we’re not going to start any BBQ wars here today — what we will say is Tennessee features their own exceptional Memphis-style BBQ, which is a must-have while you’re down south. It’s distinctly unique from Western Kansas City and Texas styles with a Carolina vinegary influence but splits the difference a bit with some tomato-based sauces. I’m a big fan of Central BBQ, but there are plenty of great options if you’re looking to get your rib on.

At night, you’re not going to want to miss the Honky Tonk highway, or as Google Maps calls it, “Broadway.” This is the closest thing you’ll get to the Vegas Strip this side of the Mississippi with tons of great bars, music, and rockin’ nightlife. As a scenic bonus, it’s right next to the river. Remember, if you bring a friend or two from the conference, your drinks become tax deductible as a “networking event.”

You’ll find the Johnny Cash Museum right there on Broadway as well, all you’ve gotta do is “walk the line.” And the Country Music Hall of Fame is just a short walk away if you want to celebrate the tunes that made Music City.

Extend your trip with a Roo shift

Looking to stay a bit longer? Roo to the rescue! We’re launching in Nashville the same week as the conference with shifts available for you to grab. Picking up just one shift allows you to extend all the great tax savings you get from attending the conference, which means more savings on your hotel stay and even more subsidized eats.

We’re thrilled to be adding Nashville to the list of incredible Roo cities where even more vets and techs can enjoy all the great flexibility of relief work!
