Sure, you can run through a whole bunch of job interviews where everybody puts their best face forward, but there’s only one way to get the honest experience of how people and teams operate under pressure.

Vets and Techs: We’re here to support your full career journey, wherever that takes you. If that means moving beyond relief to your part or full-time dream job, we’re on your team to help with that transition. Vets and Techs can use Roo to experience working at a variety of hospitals to find your ideal culture fit while earning a competitive income for your work. Get to know future clients and their pets as well as your fellow team members.

Practice Managers: Are you looking for a better way to hire without all the headaches of parsing resumes or back-and-forth calls to a recruiter? With Roo, you can work relief shifts with a large number of candidates to find your next superstar Vet or Tech, informed by actual experience working together! They’ll practice in your clinic as part of your existing team, creating real connections with your clients. Plus, they’ll treat actual patients at your hospital.

How does Roo Part & Full-Time Placement work?

It’s actually pretty easy. Just sign up for Roo and start posting shifts or working at a variety of hospitals. Once you’re up and hopping, it’s only a matter of time until you find your perfect match!

When you’re ready to take the next steps, we’ll provide hands-on, personalized support throughout the transition process.

Vets and Techs: Be sure to update your Job Preferences in your Roo profile. If you set this to “Actively Job Searching” or “Open to Job Opportunities,” hospitals will see a label beneath your profile pic when you request a shift letting them know you’re interested in learning more about employment opportunities.

You’ll also now see “Hiring” labels on hospital profiles so you know which locations are looking to hire. Of course, if you’re not interested in part or full-time work, set your job preferences to “Not right now” and just focus on relief shifts. We support what you want for your career.

When you’ve found your perfect hospital, we’ll help support your transition as best we can! If you still have shifts booked at other hospitals, we ask that you honor those because those hospitals (and pets) are relying on your help too. However, if you can’t make it work with your new part or full-time position, we get it, and we’ll work with you to figure it out.

Hospitals: Be sure to update the Hiring Opportunities section of your profile to add the “Hiring” label so job-seeking Vets and Techs know you’re looking to hire. This will help your relief shifts stand out to Vets and Techs that may be open to working full or part-time at your hospital.

When you make a Roo Match, you won’t be charged for any future shifts you may have scheduled with the Vet or Tech you’ve hired part or full-time with no cancellation fees (*as long as we’ve been given at least 2 weeks notice). Poof! Roo magic.

There is an industry standard career placement fee, which varies depending on the Roo Vet or Tech you’re hiring and their experience. Check out our full Career Placement Policies to learn more.

Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match!

Of course, Roo is here to help with this entire process (if you want it)! Once a Practice Manager lets us know they’re looking to make a hire, our team (a.k.a. real people) will reach out to the Vet or Tech to confirm their interest. And this works both ways! If a Vet or Tech lets us know they want to make the leap to part or full-time at a specific hospital, we’ll reach out to their hiring team to confirm interest.

This saves everyone time and also protects their privacy and personal contact info if someone’s just not that into it.

Once everyone’s on board and fired up, we’ll connect both sides and facilitate any conversations that need to happen to finalize details. Any offers are negotiated entirely between the hospital and the Vet or Tech. Just let us know when it’s final so we can help with the transition. This whole process can be as hands-on as you’d like, our team is here to lend a paw in any way we can.
