As an independent contractor with Roo, you’ll receive every penny you see listed on each Roo shift card, delivered directly to your bank account in as little as two days. However, you’ll be responsible for paying taxes on this income at a later date, so we always recommend setting some money aside for taxes. We’d love to calculate this for you, but we’re no tax experts, so we recommend checking with a tax professional for the most accurate estimates specific to you.

You’ll also be responsible for paying for your own benefits such as health and dental insurance if you don’t get these through a full-time employer. We’ve partnered with Stride Health to get you the benefits you need at competitive rates.
While professional liability and license defense insurance are not required to work Roo shifts, we highly recommend all vets get covered before working relief, which is an additional expense to consider (though not a large one).
