Ask your AVMA accredited veterinary school to submit your transcript directly to the Washington State Veterinary Board of Governors.
NAVLE: New vets applying for a license in Washington will need to pass the NAVLE examination and have their results submitted directly to the Washington State Veterinary Board of Governors.
Jurisprudence Exam: Applicants in Washington will also need to complete a mail-home/open book State Exam covering Washington's veterinary laws and rules.
A fingerprint-based background check may be required if you have lived in another state or if you have a criminal record in Washington State. This would be an additional expense.
Fill out the top section of the Credential Verification Form for every state(s) or jurisdiction(s) where you are or have previously been licensed. It must be completed by the issuing body and submitted directly to the Washington State Department of Health.
Unfortunately, Washington does not accept AAVSB Vault service transfers. You’ll have to have these documents submitted directly from the issuing state board.
The Washington Board does not specify how long it takes to process license applications. Ensure your application is not missing any documents to avoid delays.

Washington does not verify your CE annually, but it is recommended you keep a record of your CE for at least 2 years as the Washington Board may randomly audit you.

Unfortunately, Washington does not offer temporary veterinary licenses that allow relief veterinarians to practice in-state for a limited duration.
